The Skincare Seasons

Part 1 - Summer

Sunshine and blue skies. Laying on the beach. Swimming in the sea. Picnics in the park. The relaxing days of summer… Relaxing the body and mind is great for the skin as less stress will usually mean less breakouts. However, with carefree days it’s easy to forget about your skin. During summer the oil from your glands is actually thicker. Mixing this thicker oil with sweat, sunblock, and clogged pores and breakouts are the result. We imagine summer to leave our skins tanned and moist but the heat can leave our skin dehydrated and dull on the cheeks and breakouts on the forehead, nose, and chin areas (T-Zone). Sunblock is vital for the skin to prevent hyperpigmentation and skin cancer. Therefore, an oil free sunblock is best if you are prone to breakouts. Your skin will benefit from a light oil free moisturiser to counteract the water lost through sweat. This easy breezy skincare routine for summer will keep your skin healthy and glowing:

(1) Cleanse with a foaming gel (Morning and evening).

(2) Tone (With rose water).

(3) Light oil free moisturiser (Casey Skin Sea Soother).

(4) Sunblock and re-apply every two hours (Day).

(5) Exfoliate (with salicylic acid) twice a week and treat yourself to a professional exfoliating treatment with your local esthetician.

As the weather heats up it’s also easier to eat fruit and salads which is essential for the health of your skin.

Happy summer!
